Meet the Team! Georgi Vasilev Q+A

It's a really exciting time at Blakeney Point Search & Selection at the moment with our brand new division, BP Operations, headed up by Carla Linsday.

We're happy to share the news of our continued growth as we continue supporting clients and candidates in the Food & Drinks Manufacturing Industry. BP Operations specialises in providing expert Permanent and Interim recruitment for Food Manufacturing industries across the UK.

Over the next weeks we have been getting to know the new BP Operations team. Starting with Kate Clarke, and now onto Georgi Vasilev.

A self-professed foodie and 'recruitment newbie', Georgi started his recruitment journey two years ago - but don't underestimate his ambition! Georgi has already proved himself to be a top-biller in his first weeks at Blakeney Point Search & Selection.

We sat down with Georgi to find out a little bit more about him...

Hi Georgi! Tell us what your first job was.

So I started my first job straight after graduating from university. I worked as a machine operator in manufacturing for boilers and kitchen appliances.

What three words would you use to describe yourself?

If I had to describe myself with three words should be young, wild, and free!

How long have you been in recruitment?

I am a bit of a 'recruitment newbie'! I started my career path as a site coordinator at Mach Recruitment in CV cuisine in 2021, where I was supplying staff for food production. Due to site closure, I moved to Sainsbury's, where I was sourcing warehouse operatives for their large distribution centre.

What is your favourite way to spend your free time?

I love to spend my spare time on long walks and reading books. My biggest passion always will be cooking because food is my religion.

Sounds lovely. What is your favourite food?

As I am eastern European, Balkan cuisine takes a special place in my heart, but I am always open to something new.

Finally, share what you are most excited about working for Blakeney Point.

I am excited to be part of this successfully growing business within specialist recruiters, but it is also great when the whole team makes you feel you are in the right spot. It feels like home.
